  • Created and managed a division in a reformed provincial health system focused on health promotion, communication strategies, social marketing, public education, community development.
  • Participated as a member of the Health and Community Services Management Team, Health System Evaluation Steering Committee
  • Provided leadership to:the development, validation and evaluation of the Circle of Health, a unique health promotion framework developed for PEI through a consultative process;  federal/provincial research projects i.e. Heart Health, Choice and Opportunity; development of health promotion infrastructure i.e. community health centres, Health Information Resource Centre, Health Promotion Summer Institute, Public Health Review, collaborative practice projects; strategy development i.e. AIDS Strategy, Nutrition review, Demand Reduction Strategy; support to Chief Health Officer and Public Health Nursing.
  • Established links with local, national, and international expertise in the field of health promotion and primary health care, e.g. Regional/provincial health promotion Steering Committee, Community Health Promotion Network Atlantic, Health Canada, U. of Toronto Centre for Health Promotion (WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion), U. Of Helsinki (WHO Collaborating Centre for Human Resource Development in Primary Health Care).
